Renault will introduce the new generation of the Clio RS in Australia by the end of the year where the popular B-segment hot hatch will set you back for 28,790 AUD.
The new generation of the Renault Clio RS is actually several thousand Australian dollars cheaper than the previous version of the model and while the old three-door only Clio RS used to cost 36,490 AUD, the new and improved Clio RS starts at 28,790 AUD. A more track-focused Cup version of the new Clio RS was planned for Australia initially but Renault has decided to offer the Sport variant which has a softer suspension tune and it sits 3mm higher.
The brand new Renault Clio RS is coming with a 1.6 liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine under its hood, which is replacing the old 2.0 liter four-cylinder naturally aspirated. The unit is producing a total output of 147 kW and it has a peak torque of 240 Nm. Power is being sent to the front-wheel drive through a new double clutch automatic transmission. The average fuel consumption of the hot hatch stands at just 6.3 liters / 100 km. More details on the Australian version will be announced close to its launch.
