The luxurious Audi A6 sedan has been named the Asian Car of the Year by Autocar magazine after the German vehicle was selected from other models.
“Audi’s new A6 comes loaded to the teeth with tech and has taken the game considerably forward since its last incarnation. It comes with a class-leading diesel engine, refined interiors and pliant comfortable ride”, said the judges after naming the Audi A6 Autocar’s Asian Car of the Year.
According to the British automotive magazine, the Audi A6 managed to “overtake” models like the Ford Fiesta Sedan, Kia Sportage, Volkswagen Jetta, Volkswagen Passat and Volvo S60 and the German car was named Autocar’s Asian Car of the Year by a panel of 18 auto experts. The award will be presented to the company’s officials at the 2012 Beijing Motor Show next month.
As a small reminder, the first generation of the Audi A6 has hit the market in 1994 as a predecessor to the popular Audi 100. The Audi A6 is coming in two body styles, four-door sedan and five-door Avant and the model is sharing its platform with the A7, S6 and RS6. The current generation of the Audi A6 (C7) is being made since 2011 in Germany, India, Mexico, China and Indonesia.
