Lotus has officially pulled the wraps off its latest creation, the Evora GTE China Edition, during the 2012 Beijing Motor Show.
According to the car manufacturer, the special edition of the Evora will be named the GTE China Edition, and just like its “badge” says, it will only be available in the Asian country. Lotus says that the Evora GTE China Edition can be distinguished from the standard model thanks to the revised suspension and upgraded interior, which is now getting carbon fiber trim and leather upholstery.
“As the top potential market for sports car brands, China is a vital part of the five-year revival plan we announced 18-months ago. We are committed to bringing our unique products, distinctive style and rich history to China to provide Chinese customers with diversified and personalized product choices”, said the Lotus Group CEO, Dany Bahar.
The Lotus Evora GTE China Edition will take its power from a 3.5 liter V6 supercharged engine, the same one used on the regular model, which is developing a total output of 438 horsepower. The unit is mated to an Automated Manual Transmission which is sending the power to the rear wheels. The Lotus Evora GTE China Edition will only be made in 118 units. There is no official word on the pricing just yet.
