Belgium: New passenger vehicle sales down 0.24 percent in November image

New passenger car registrations in Belgium continued to decline in November. The Federal Public Service Mobility and Transport and FEBIAC, on Monday said new passenger vehicle sales fell 0.24 percent in November to 40,440 (40,537 in November 2010).

However, on a year to date basis, there were 523,448 new passenger vehicles sold in Belgium, up 1.03 percent to 523,448 (518,104 1/10 => 11/10).

Moving to Light commercial vehicles, in Belgium there were sold 4436 Light commercial vehicles (<= 3.5 tons) in November – up 10.35 percent from the same period of 2010.
In addition, the Federal Public Service Mobility and Transport and FEBIAC said Heavy goods vehicles (> 3.5 – <16 tons) sales are up 8.09 percent in November to 147 vehicles (136 in 11. 2010).

Given the good health of the car market over the past 11 months and given the recent political decisions concerning the imminent end of the federal invoice discount, it seems right now almost certain that the figures will be improved in late December.
