Bentley Continental GT model year 2017 caught testing image

We have fresh spy footage coming from The Netherlands and depicting what appears to be the 2017 Bentley Continental GT wearing the production body on the prototypes.

A few months back spy photographers caught a quirky prototype of the Continental wearing as a disguise the modified body of the Porsche Panamera – but now we’re treated to a good look at the actual deal. And the model is looking more realistic as it wears its own body that looks a bit more stylish and lightweight than its predecessor. We have to rule out the possibility that it’s actually a prototype of the critically acclaimed EXP 10 Speed 6 concept because that model will be significantly smaller. A quick check of the prototype’s license plate reveals it’s wearing the biturbo W12 6.0-liter engine which has very little chance of reaching the smaller and more lightweight model.

The 12-cylinder engine is also likely to be declined in the new version powering the Bentayga SUV and reaching the pool party with a splashing 600 horsepower (447 kilowatts) and 664 pound-feet (900 Newton meters) of torque. That massive thrust should also be pretty impressive when taking into account the 2017 Continental GT should drop lots of weight thanks to the introduction of the MSB platform shared with the upcoming next generation Porsche Panamera. The design of the prototype is also hidden under some fake black body panels – we’re hoping it would be inspired by the EXP 10 Speed 6 concept in order to appear sleeker and sportier all round.
