The 2014 New York Auto Show is usually home to some luxurious and lavishly expensive reveals, and as far as these two go, you won’t get anywhere better – they’re fast, expensive and very luxurious.
The 2015 Bentley Flying Spur V8 and the fastest production Bentley ever, the Continental GT Speed will make their US debut, after they were first shown to the world during the Geneva Motor Show in March.
“I’m excited for the new Flying Spur V8 and 2015 GT Speed models to make their North American debut in New York,” said Christophe Georges, President and Chief Operating Officer of Bentley Motors, in a statement. “2013 was a record year for Bentley and demonstrated the high level of performance the brand is capable of. I look forward to seeing that success continue as the depth and breadth of our model lines continue to expand. All of our new products and initiatives will continue to embody the spirit of Bentley’s heritage while delivering effortless performance.”
The 2015 Continental GT Speed holds true to its moniker, as it reaches 206 mph (331 km/h) in Coupe form and 203 mph (327 km/h) when in the convertible version. That’s thanks to the massive 6.0-liter twin-turbo W12 engine that churns 626 hp and 607 lb-ft (823 Nm) of torque.
The sedan is a little more relaxed, with 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that “only” delivers 500 hp and 488 lb-ft (661 Nm) of torque, good for a 0- 100 km/h sprint in 4.9 seconds and a maximum speed of 183 mph (295 km/h).
