Bentley has officially confirmed for production a hybrid car, which is expected to be launched in the nearby future and offer high performance with low fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
The Bentley Hybrid has been also announced a while ago but there was nothing official about it until now, when the Bentley CEO Wolfgang Durheimer said that the company is planning to develop a plug-in hybrid. According to the guys at blog.caranddriver.com, the Bentley official has officially announced that the Bentley Hybrid will hit the production line soon and the model is expected to be powered by the massive W12 engine, but the twin-turbo V8 might also be in the books.
Even if the car manufacturer has now announced the Bentley Hybrid for production, we still don’t have too many details on it. As we said just above, the Bentley Hybrid is expected to be powered by either the large W12 engine as well as the 4.0 liter twin-turbo V8 unit which was recently added to the Continental GT and Continental GTC. The engine will be helped on the way by an electric motor which will be placed between the petrol burner and the transmission and it will offer a total electric driving range of 25-30 km (16-19 miles). Sadly we don’t have anymore details on the model and an exact release date hasn’t been announced yet.
