Bentley premieres the Bentayga First Edition in Los Angeles image

The exquisite Sunset Marquis Hotel in Los Angeles, California, USA, has been used as the setup for the introduction of the Bentayga First Edition – though only VIP customers attended the prestigious event.

This special series model with limited availability has been billed as the “ultimate expression of the Bentayga’s spirit,” complete with Union Jack badges and some 22-inch polished wheels with black painted accents for good measure. The exterior changes have been limited but inside the cabin the First Edition comes with ‘Diamond within Diamond’ quilting, bespoke contrast stitching and a unique ambient lighting system. The limited series will also feature illuminated sill plates, “First Edition” embroidery on the seats and more Union Jack references thanks to the graphics employed on the dashboard. The build process will be limited to just 608 vehicles and every buyer will also be receiving a unique Breitling watch with an all-black case, a black mother-of-pearl dial and bronze toned hands reminding of the livery employed by “the first Bentayga presented to the public.” Three watch versions will be offered: the Emergency, with an integrated dual frequency personal locator beacon; the Cockpit B50 that comes with an “electronic multifunction caliber” and the automatic Chronomat 38 that was tailored to the woman audience.

Under the hood the limited edition employs the same twin-turbo 6.0-liter W12 engine churning out 608 PS (600 bhp / 447kW) and 900 Nm (663 lb-ft) of torque, mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and the all-wheel drive system – that’s enough for the 0 to 60 mph sprint to be handled in four seconds and a maximum speed of 187 mph (301 km/h).
