The upcoming Bentley SUV might be called the Bentayga once it will be introduced officially.
Initial rumors were saying that the Bentley SUV will be named the Falcon once it will be introduced but now, according to a new report, the model in question will actually be called the Bentayga. The vehicle should be introduced on the market in 2016 and its new name is derived from a rock formation found in Gran Canaria, in the Canary Islands.
The Bentley Bentayga has been already previewed by the EXP 9 F Concept, which has been introduced a couple of years and, but in its final production version it will be coming with a W12 engine under its hood, which should make it the “fastest SUV on sale”. A “greener” plug-in hybrid version is also expected and this should stand for approximately 30 percent of sales.
The vehicle in question will be riding on the MLB Evo platform, the same one which will be used on the next Audi A7 and also on several other SUVs created under the close watch of the Volkswagen Group. In terms of pricing, the Bentley Bentayga should stand at approximately 164,000 euros. More details on the model are limited at this time.
