Bentley teases its “most extreme” model ever image

We might be looking at the quick arrival of the Continental Supersports, complete with a W12 mill under the hood – which could act as a swan song for the current generation.

The new generation Continental GT is expected to arrive later on this year and the current model might go out in stardom flames – Bentley released a short but comprehensive teaser video on social media channels to provide a fleeting sight of the car in question. And we also have a release date – January 6 – for the arrival of the most extreme Bentley ever. From what little we know so far, there’s a fixed rear wing sporting carbon fiber, tinted taillights, and a set of red brake calipers hidden behind huge wheels. So we’re betting on the Continental Supersports arriving in time to represent the last hurrah for the current generation. If we take the sweepstakes, then the model will be an enhanced version of the GT Speed with a more hardcore W12 engine.

This means the biturbo 6.0-liter unit should pack in excess of the 633 horsepower (472 kilowatts) and 620 pound-feet (840 Newton-meters) of torque seen on board the Speed. The alter is capable of reaching 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 3.9 seconds – but the new hardcore version should best that thanks to the added power and some aerodynamic enhancements. The previous Supersports was first introduced back in 2009 and featured more power and less weight than other versions.
