The astonishing EXP 10 Speed 6 concept has been one of the most interesting products to come from the British manufacturer in years and a top executive has now revealed the company is very close to allow the creation of a production series version.
According to Bentley Sales and Marketing boss Kevin Rose, the beautiful concept coupe is close to getting the fan-base approved green light and while interviewed by Top gear he said the model “ticks all the boxes” – though it’s still awaiting the final word from the brand’s board of directors. Anyways, if the EXP 10 Speed 6 will reach the production line it will ride on the MSB platform used by Porsche and scheduled to make its first appearance under the body of the second generation Panamera sedan. The executive went on to explain that Bentley was a co-developer of the architecture as it played a “big hand” and will be employed by the ultra-luxury marquee to also underpin the Gt, Flyin Spur and “the EXP 10 too.”
Rose also pointed out the architecture is flexible enough to “create a sedan with a sedan feel or a sports car with a sports car feel” while dismissing the idea that customers of the brand will not be happy about platform sharing since their businesses also use the concept. Bentley has not delivered technical specs of the upcoming EXP 10 but the rumor mill paints a pretty picture: twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine and an electric version with two motor and all-wheel drive churning out a total of 400-500 hp (298-372 kW) and a range of up to 310 miles (500 km).
