The BMW Group has just announced that the iconic MINI brand has been launched in India, at the 2012 New Delhi Auto Expo.
According to the German based automaker BMW, its MINI sub brand is now available in India too, where four models can already be ordered by their future customers. BMW has taken advantage of the 2012 New Delhi Auto Expo in order to launch its MINI sub brand in India, and this move can mean only one thing for the car manufacturer: money and more money. The BMW sales for 2012 are expected to increase and introducing the MINI sub brand in the Asian country will “help” the company’s profit.
“Yes, it’s a bit delayed but not too late for the MINI to be launched in India. More Indians are travelling and living abroad, they have network overseas and are more aware of trends. For the initial years, we will keep the numbers that way and will focus on brand building in India”, said the MINI Brand Management and Business Coordination Senior Vice President, Kay Segler.
The four MINI variants recently introduced in India are the Convertible, priced at Rs 29.99 lakh, the Cooper S Countryman, priced at Rs 31.99 lakh, the Cooper, which costs Rs 24.9 lakh and the Cooper S, which has a price ttag of Rs 27.9 lakh.
