The German based automaker BMW is planning to introduce the new 1-Series GT next year, during the 2014 Geneva Motor Show.
The announcement hasn’t been made in an official press release but it was brought to everyone’s attention by Ian Robertson, the BMW sales and marketing chief, who has recently spoken to the guys at Auto Express. According to the company’s official, the new 1-Series GT will be unveiled in Geneva, next year.
“The Active Tourer will be the first front-wheel drive BMW, the first to use a three-cylinder engine and you’ll see it at the Geneva Motor Show next year”, said Robertson.
The upcoming BMW 1-Series GT will receive a 1.5 liter TwinTurbo three-cylinder engine under its hood, which will have outputs ranging between 122 HP and 224 HP (90 kW and 165 kW) for the petrol versions, while the diesels will range from 82 HP to 184 HP (60 kW to 135 kW). Sadly this is all we’ve got for now on the new BMW 1-Series GT but we expect more details on the model to be released in early 2014, close to the model’s official debut scheduled for the Geneva Motor Show.
