The BMW 2-Series Active Tourer is believed to bring a new type of customers to the company, once it will eventually arrive in all of its markets.
The first ever front-wheel drive BMW is the 2-Series Active Tourer and this is basically just an MPV with some premium touches which is aimed towards young families. The carmaker believes that the model in question will be bringing some first-time BMW buyers and it seems that almost 75 percent of those willing to buy a new car will turn towards this MPV. The announcement has been made by Frank Niederlaender, the company’s head of product management, when speaking to Automotive News Europe.
As you probably already know by now, the BMW 2-Series Active Tourer has been officially presented to the public during the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. This is coming with the sweptback headlights and with the angular rear, being based on the MINI and getting a longer body than the one of the 1-Series. The versions available for the model include the 218i, the 225i xDrive, the 218d and close to the end of this year, the company will also add the 220i, the 216d, the 220d and the 220d xDrive.
