The brand new BMW 2-Series Cabrio has been recently spied while being tested on a public road, with its top down.
Our spy photographers have managed to capture the brand new BMW 2-Series Cabrio while it was being tested on some public roads. The model in question has been wrapped in some serious camouflage but it’s still showing most of its lines very clear, especially with its top down, like in the images posted below. The BMW 2-Series Cabrio is said to be based on the 1-Series hatchback and it will borrow the technology and engine lineup from this model.
The carmaker will be adding only four-cylinder engines to this new vehicle and they will consist out of 2.0 liter petrol burners, with 150 HP, 177 HP and 218 HP, while the diesel lineup will be including a single 2.0 liter turbocharged unit, with 214 HP. All engines will be mated to either the six-speed manual transmission or to the optional eight-speed automatic. The xDrive all-wheel drive system will become available for the 2-Series as well. The model will be introduced this year and more details are expected to be announced close to its official debut.
