BMW 2-Series Convertible enters production in Leipzig image

The brand new BMW 2-Series Convertible has recently started production at the company’s facility in Leipzig, Germany.

Coming in to replace the old 1-Series Convertible, the brand new BMW 2-Series Convertible has been introduced not too long ago and now it is getting ready to reach dealerships as production has kicked in at the company’s plant in Leipzig, Germany. The model in question will become available in the 220d, 220i, 228i, 228i xDrive and M235i range topper and all of them, except for the M235i, will become available for order in the United States too, in 2015.

The brand new BMW 2-Series Convertible is basically identical to the 2-Series Coupe and it has been officially presented to the public during the 2014 Paris Motor Show, a couple of months ago. The base petrol version 220i is packing 184 HP (135 kW) and 270 Nm (199 lb-ft) of torque, the 228i has 245 HP (180 kW) and 350 Nm (258 lb-ft) of torque while the diesel 220d has 190 HP (140 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque. The range topper M235i has a 3.0L unit under its hood, which is producing 326 HP (240 kW) and 450 Nm (322 lb-ft) of torque.
