The first rendering with the upcoming BMW 2-Series Family Tourer has ended up onto the web, providing us with a first look of the model currently being tested.
After officially unveiling the new 2-Series Active Tourer at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, back in March, the company’s first front-wheel drive vehicle, BMW is continuing to expand its new lineup with the addition of the so-called 2-Series Family Tourer. This will basically be a stretched version of the 2-Series Active Tourer which will come with two extra seats, but don’t expect your average adults to fit on them because they will only work out on children.
The longer rear doors providing an easier access to the third row of seats are expected to be making their way onto the new BMW 2-Series Family Tourer and as far as the engine lineup goes, expect the same units from the 5-seat model, including the 1.5 liter 3-cylinder turbocharged with 136 HP and 220 Nm of torque, in the 228i, the 2.0L with four cylinders and 231 HP and 350 Nm of torque, in the 225i, or the 2.0L turbo diesel with 150 HP and 330 Nm of torque in the 218d. The BMW 2-Series Family Tourer will be officially presented to the public during the 2014 Paris Motor Show, in October, and it will go on sale next year.
