A facelifted version of the BMW 3-Series is currently in the pipeline and it is getting ready to be introduced, probably close to the end of this year.
BMW has some big plans for its future models and while some of them have an uncertain future, like the X3 M, the X4 M or a new flagship model, called the 9-Series, which should rival the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, others have a straight line which they have to follow, which includes this facelifted version of the 3-Series. The model in question has been caught on camera by our spy photographers and, besides the “Hybrid” lettering on the front door, we can also notice the partially covered body, which is hinting at the modifications.
The 2016 BMW 3-Series is believed to come with a new front bumper, a new rear bumper, a slightly revised kidney grille, some possible modifications to the lighting units and a slightly revised interior design. Let’s not forget the wheels, which will probably receive a new design. The engine lineup will be upgraded too and it will include the 1.5 liter three-cylinder units, borrowed from the new MINI, but don’t act too surprised if you will see some other engines. “Green” versions of the car will also be added to the lineup and modifications will most likely not stop here, considering the fact that Mercedes-Benz and Audi are planning upgraded versions of the C-Class and the A4 too. Additional details on the facelifted 3-Series remain in the shadows for now.
