BMW is planning to put the 3-Series GT into production in Malaysia and the model should be hitting the production line in Kulim sometimes this year.
We didn’t thought we had to hear anything to attract our interest in the BMW 3-Series GT, considering the fact that it was unveiled one year ago, but we did. According to the local automotive media, BMW is planning to put the 3-Series GT into production in Malaysia sometimes this year. The model is believed to start production in Kulim, in mid-2014, but it’s really too early to say what versions will be assembled in the Asian country.
The BMW 3-Series GT (Gran Turismo) is a variation of the new 3-Series generation and it’s riding on a wheelbase which is 110 mm (4.3 inches) longer than the one of the standard 3-Series Touring, with a 79 mm (3.1 inches) higher roof and a 17 mm (0.67 inches) increase in width. The model stands at 4,824 mm long, 1,828 mm wide and 1,508 mm tall. The BMW 3-Series GT is offered in petrol versions such as the 320i, the 328i or the 335i and in diesel variants like the 318d, the 320d, the 325d or the 328d.
