The new BMW 316i is the sixth model to join BMW Malaysia’s locally assembled model range, alongside the 320i, the 320d Modern, 328i Luxury, 320d and 328i M Sport versions. The new BMW 316i is coming with features like the ConnectedDrive, BMW TeleServices, the Leather Dakota Black interior finish, the USB, Bluetooth connectivity, iDrive, 6.5-inch screen and some other tweaks, which should make the model more appealing to its future owners in Malaysia.

BMW says that the 316i will get exterior color options such as the Mineral Grey, the Glacier Silver, the Melbourne Red, the Alpine White and the Black Sapphire. Power to the model will be provided by the 1.6 liter TwinPower Turbo four-cylinder engine, which will produce a total output of 135 HP and it will have a peak torque of 220 Nm. The unit is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The 0 to 100 km/h sprint will take 9.2 seconds and top speed will stand at 210 km/h.
