BMW has recently announced its plans to introduce the 328d xDrive Sports Wagon to the United States, later on this year.
The German based automaker BMW is planning to diversify its diesel lineup in the United States and a main role is played by the 328d xDrive Sports Wagon, which has been recently confirmed for launch this autumn, when it should arrive in the company’s dealerships as a 2014 model year. The 2014 BMW 328d xDrive Sports Wagon is expected to become a huge hit overseas, considering the overall increased price of fuel and the American passion for estate cars.
The BMW 328d xDrive Sports Wagon will be powered by a 2.0 liter four-cylinder turbo diesel engine, which will produce a total output of 180 BHP (134 kW) and 379 Nm of torque (280 lb-ft), mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Power will be sent to the xDrive all-wheel drive system and the model will be able to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in just over 7 seconds. The BMW 328d xDrive will return 32 / 45 / 37 mpg in city / highway / combined. Four trim levels will be available for the model, the Luxury, Sport, Modern and M Sport Package. Additional details on the 328d xDrive Sports Wagon will be announced close to its launch.
