The BMW 4-Series Gran Coupe has been recently spied on public roads where it was being tested by the German based automaker.
Rumors on BMW planning a 4-Series Gran Coupe model have been around for quite a few months but our spy photographers have managed to catch the model on camera for the first time, while it was being tested. The images posted below are showing basically a smaller version of the 6-Series Gran Coupe, which is based on the brand new 4-Series, or better said the new 3-Series. The model in question is BMW’s answer to the Mercedes-Benz CLA and the Audi A5 Sportback, and it’s actually a longer four-door version of the new 4-Series Coupe.
The brand new BMW 4-Series Gran Coupe has an exterior design similar to the one found on the new 3-Series generation, but thanks to the aluminum inserts and new air intakes, it looks more “upmarket”. As for the engine lineup, this will be shared with the 4-Series Coupe, and this means that there will be a choice of two petrol and two diesel, with the most powerful version being the 435i, until the new M4 Gran Coupe will hit the market. The BMW 4-Series Gran Coupe is expected to be launched by the end of the year.
