The first official patent drawings of the BMW 4-Series GranCoupe have recently hit the web ahead of the model’s official unveil which should happen sometimes next year.
The German based automaker BMW is getting ready to introduce a brand new body style of the recently introduced 4-Series, the third one, after the Coupe and the Convertible, the GranCoupe. The new BMW 4-Series GranCoupe will follow the same footsteps as its larger brother, the 6-Series GranCoupe, and it will basically be a four-door coupe, in the same size as the new 3-Series generation but with an elegant sloping roofline and some other minor tweaks.
The brand new BMW 4-Series GranCoupe will have to tackle the popular Audi A5 Sportback and because we have already seen some prototypes in a few spy images, add the patent drawings posted below and we can easily imagine how this model may look like. The wheelbase will probably be a little longer when compared to the 4-Series Coupe, in order to accommodate the rear passengers, and the engine lineup should be shared with the base two-door model. The cheapest version is believed to gain a 2.0 liter turbocharged engine, with four cylinders, producing 240 HP (179 kW). The BMW 4-Series Gran Coupe should be officially unveiled at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, in March.
