BMW has announced a series of updates for the 518d and for the 520 on its local auto market.
The BMW 518d and the 520d have been recently updated, as the German based automaker said. First up, the 518d is now getting a brand new 2.0 liter TwinPower Turbo diesel engine under its hood, which is now producing a total output of 150 HP (110 kW) and it has a peak torque of 360 Nm (266 lb-ft). This basically means 6 HP (5 kW) more than the previous version, as the company is saying.
Besides the 518d, BMW has also worked on the 520d, which is also gaining a brand new 2.0 liter TwinPower Turbo diesel. According to the car manufacturer, this unit is now producing a total output of 190 HP (140 kW) and it has a peak torque of 400 Nm (295 lb-ft), meaning, once again, 6 HP (5 kW) more than the previous unit and 20 Nm (15 lb-ft) of torque. BMW says that thanks to the extra power, the Sedan and Touring can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 0.2 seconds faster, in both versions, than their predecessors.
