The Japanese division of BMW AG has announced on Tuesday that the 6-Series Gran Coupe has been launched on the local market, becoming available as the 640i and the 650i.
According to the German based automaker, the new BMW 6-Series Gran Coupe is available in two versions, the 640i and the 650i, both of them equipped with the idle-stop feature and the energy regeneration system. BMW says that the starting price of the BMW 6-Series Gran Coupe in Japan has been set at 9,86 million yen.
As a quick reminder, the BMW 640i Gran Coupe is powered by a 3.0 liter six-cylinder TwinPower Turbo engine, which is developing a total output of 315 horsepower at 5,800 – 6,000 rpm and it has a peak torque of 330 lb-ft, available between 1,300 and 4,500 rpm. The model can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in just 5.4 seconds, before reaching a top speed of 155 mph.
The more powerful BMW 650i Gran Coupe is equipped with a 4.4 liter twin-turbo V8 engine, which is producing 445 horsepower between 5,500 and 6,000 rpm, with a peak torque of 480 lb-ft, available between 2,000 and 4,500 rpm. The 650i can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 4.6 seconds before reaching the same electronically limited top speed of 155 mph.
