The new generation of the flagship sedan born in Bavaria, the BMW 7-Series, has just arrive in North America.
BMW has hosted an international media launch for the new generation of the 7-Series in New York City and the event has included some driving sessions on the Monticello Motor Club race track. Attendees have included the media from the United States, Canada, Latin America, New Zealand, Australia and India and, in order to mark the event, the car manufacturer has released a massive photo gallery with the 7-Series in the U.S.-spec.
According to the car manufacturer, the BMW 7-Series will only be offered as a 740i and as a 750i xDrive model, over-seas, and the cheapest one will be priced from 81,300, without the destination charge, and it is taking its power from a 3.0 liter inline six-cylinder gasoline burner, with the TwinPower Turbo technology, producing a total output of 320 HP. For the more expensive 750i xDrive, you will have to pay a total of 97,400 USD, without the destination charge, and this is coming with a 4.4 liter twin turbo V8 engine, producing 445 HP, connected to an 8-speed automatic transmission and sending power to the xDrive intelligent all-wheel drive system. There will also be a third model offered at a later time, in early 2016, the 7-Series PHEV, with the 2.0 liter four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline burner and an electric motor. This variant can run on electric power alone for up to 37 km (23 miles) at speeds up to 121 km/h (75 mph).
