Looking like something that would look good in a Batman movie, the M SUVs have been treated to the new Black Fire limited series, which looks good for inconspicuous night cruising and crime-fighting.
The Bavarian brand is apparently looking to enhance its M SUV range with the future introduction of an X3 M, alongside the X5 and X6 M, but that one will have to wait its turn before getting the Black Fire treatment. The X5 “Sports Activity Vehicle “and X6 Sports Activity Coupé” in M attire get the show going on without actually ramping up performance. That’s otherwise plentiful, with the two models sharing the biturbo 4.4-liter V8 engine capable of 567 horsepower (423 kilowatts) and a torquetastic 553 pound-feet (750 Newton-meters) of torque – all that oomph is sent to the xDrive system through the brand’s ubiquitous eight-speed automatic transmission.
The Black Fire Edition adds an all-black look, even on the forged 21-inch alloy wheels. There are also carbon fiber mirror caps next to the Sapphire Black Metallic body. Inside, there’s a full fine-grain Merino leather upholstery with a two-tone Black and Mugello Red depiction. Full electric front seats, piano black trim, and an anthracite headliner from the BMW Individual catalogue are also standard, while a special logo and either a leather- or Alcantara-wrapped steering wheel complete the premium appearance.
