New details on the upcoming BMW i3 Electronaut Edition are starting to emerge as the model in question will be getting some extra equipment which will be worth 1,750 USD more.
BMW is still not releasing more details on the i3 Electronaut Edition but according to the guys at BMW Blog, the model in question will be available exclusively to ActiveE owners and it will be coming with a blue license plate frame, with special badging, with special floor mats in the cabin, heated front seats, DC Fast Charging system, BMW i Smart Charging app for Android and Apple and some other tweaks. As we have said above, these upgrades will set you back for 1,750 USD.
The BMW i3 has been introduced back in 2013 and this costs 41,350 USD, over-seas, for the base entry-level version, but choose the REX (Range Extender) and get ready to pay 45,200 USD, before the 7,500 USD federal incentive. The BMW i3 is taking its power from an electric motor, rated at 170 HP (125 kW) and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque, which is mated to a single speed transmission and it’s sending power to the rear-wheel drive. The Range extender is adding a 650cc 34 HP two-cylinder petrol burner.
