The German based automaker BMW has recently released new images with the final production version of the i3, which is wearing even less camouflage on its body.
The brand new BMW i3 will be offered with driver assistance systems like the Driving Assistant Plus, the Parking Assistant, the Speed Limit Info, the rearview camera and more. The model in question will get reverse opening rear doors and for easier access to the cabin, the center column has been removed. The new i3 has 50:50 weight distribution for better handling and its turning circle stands at just 9.86 meters.
The most important features of the BMW i3 is found under its hood, where the electric motor is generating a total output of 168 HP (125 kW). This is backed up by a lithium-ion battery pack. Power is being sent to the rear-wheel drive. BMW says that the battery can be charged up to 8- percent in just under 30 minutes, with a 50kW fast charger, but using a conventional domestic power socket, the charging time will stand at approximately 8 hours. Additional details on the new BMW i3 are limited for the moment and will probably be announced in September, during the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.
