BMW will open the order books for the brand new i3 electric vehicle in the United Kingdom in July.
The German based automaker BMW is planning to open the order books for the i3 in July. The model is the first ever electric vehicle signed by BMW and it has already been previewed by several concept versions in two body styles. According to the guys at Autocar, the model will set you back for 35, 000 GBP, in the cheapest version, while the premium variant will be priced at around 38,000 GBP. The model should arrive in showrooms by the end of October.
The BMW i3 will be much more expensive than models like the Renault Zoe, the Nissan Leaf or the Chevrolet Volt, but sales are expected to be high considering the fact that the car has BMW badges on its body and it has been wildly advertised. Besides the BMW i3, the German based carmaker will also launch the i8 hybrid sports car. This will be the second “i” model to hit the market and it’s expected in 2014 for a cost of approximately 100,000 GBP.
