The first images showing the headlights and taillights of the final BMW i3 production version have just leaked all over the web.
The German based automaker BMW has managed to keep the brand new i3, in its final production version, a secret for the moment, but secrets are hard to keep in the automotive industry, where the competition is so severe. The company has learned this the hard way recently after some images showing the headlights and taillights of the final production version of the i3 have made their way onto the web. This may not be much, but don’t forget that we’re talking about BMW, where control freaks don’t need a resume in order to get a job.
The final production version of the BMW i3 will be a pure electric vehicle or it will come with a range-extending engine. The latter will get a two-cylinder motorcycle 0.65 liter unit, acting as an auxiliary generator for charging the battery. Prices for the BMW i3 are expected to stand at 35,000 GBP in the UK while in the United States, the model should cost 40,000 USD. The model is expected to be officially presented to the public in September, during the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.
