The impressive BMW i8 has seen an unexpected success across the United Kingdom as the model in question has been already sold out.
The company’s first ever hybrid sports car, the BMW i8, has been completely sold out in the United Kingdom. The car manufacturer says that the BMW i showroom, on Park Lane, has been the most successful in the country for i8 sales reaching a stunning figure of 170. Despite the sold units, the prospective buyers will now have to wait up to 10 months for their brand new rides to be delivered. The sales manager at Park Lane showroom said that numerous people wanted to buy the display car.
“We’ve had numerous people asking to buy the display car. Many have said to me: name your price”, said Peter Adams.
As you probably already know by now, the BMW i8 is coming in a two-door coupe body style and it is taking its power from a hybrid synchronous motor, producing 131 HP (86 kW) and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque. The model can be ordered with the 1.5 liter I3 turbo range extender, producing 228 HP (170 kW) and 320 Nm (236 lb-ft) of torque and a combined output of 357 HP (266 kW) and 570 Nm (420 lb-ft) of torque. The i8 is being assembled in Leipzig, Germany.
