Top Gear has recently named the impressive BMW i8 the Car of the Year.
The impressive BMW i8 has managed to win a lot of hearts from the company’s fans, and not only, turning out to be a cheaper alternative to models such as the Ferrari LaFerrari, McLaren P1 and Porsche 918 Spyder. The vehicle in question has been recently named Car of the Year, by Top Gear magazine.
“The BMW is a milestone in the annals of the automotive history and a glorious statement for an exciting and positive future. It’s the kind of car we should celebrate, a beautiful vision of the future, delivered now”, said the Top Gear magazine’s editor-in-chief, Charlie Turner.
As you might remember, the BMW i8 is a plug-in hybrid sports car, which is taking its power from a 1.5 liter TwinPower Turbo engine, with three cylinders, along with a electric motor fed by the lithium-ion battery. The total output of the model stands at 362 HP (266 kW), which is allowing it to sprint to 100 km/h (62 mph) from a standstill in 4.4 seconds and to reach an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).
