Being a policeman in Dubai can be the ideal job if you happen to be a petrol head because the police department in the United Arab Emirates country has one impressive supercar collection which is filled with a lot of expensive and exotic rides and also with some rare ones. The newest addition to the Dubai Police department’s vehicle lineup is a brand new BMW i8 which will be used to fight crime in the city.
The German sports car will join an already impressive lineup which includes the Ferrari FF, the Lamborghini Aventador, the Bentley Continental GT, the Bugatti Veyron, the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, the Aston Martin One-77, Lexus RC-F, Ford Mustang GT, Brabus G63 AMG, BMW M6 Gran Coupe, Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG, McLaren MP4-12C, Lexus GS, Chevrolet Camaro SS and so on.
As a small reminder, the BMW i8 has been officially introduced as a concept back in 2009, during the Frankfurt Motor Show, and in 2013 it was unveiled as a production vehicle, at the same automotive event. The plug-in hybrid sports car has been in production since 2014 and it is put together in Leipzig, Germany, being offered in a 2-door coupe body style and getting a 1.5 liter turbocharged gasoline engine under its hood, along with an electric motor, taking its juice from the 7.1 kWh lithium-ion battery.
