The BMW i8 has been recently taken out for a spin on the famous Hockenheim track where the model managed to lap it in just 1 minute and 15 seconds.
The BMW i8 seems to get hotter and hotter with each passing week and after seeing it drift just a few days ago, time has come to find out that it is pretty impressive on the track too. According to the guys from Sport Auto, the model in question has managed to lap the Hockenheim track in just 1 minute and 15 seconds, which is quite impressive considering the fact that the Jaguar F-Type did it in 1:15.2, the BMW M135i in 1:15.7 and the Porsche Boxster in 1:14.9.
The impressive BMW i8 is a “green” sports car produced by the German based automaker and also the second model, after the i3, to enter the new “i” lineup. The model in question has a hybrid synchronous motor under its hood, rated at 131 HP (86 kW) and 250 Nm (184 lb-ft) of torque, along with an I3 turbo 1.5 liter range extender, producing 228 HP (170 kW) and 320 Nm (236 lb-ft) of torque. The total output produced is 357 HP (266 kW) and 570 Nm (420 lb-ft) of torque.
