The BMW i8 will start at 99, 845 GBP in the United Kingdom, once the model will go on sale in July, next year.
The price announcement hasn’t been made official by BMW just yet but according to the guys at Auto Express, the model in question will set you back for at least 99,845 GBP. The BMW i8 will go on sale in the United Kingdom in July, next year, but by then, its smaller brother, the i3, would have been already launched locally, as 100 deposits and 200 orders have been received so far for the i3, which will go on sale on the 16th of November.
The BMW i8 has been officially unveiled during the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. The model is taking its power from a 1.5 liter three-cylinder gasoline TwinPower Turbo engine, producing 231 HP (170 kW) and 320 Nm (236 lb-ft) of torque, backed up by an electric motor which is generating an extra 131 HP (96 kW). The whole assembly is mated to a two-stage automatic transmission which is sending power to the front wheels. The total output produced is 362 HP (266 kW) and 570 Nm (420 lb-ft) of torque, enough for a 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint made in 4.4 seconds and a range of more than 500 km (310 miles).
