The brand new BMW i8 has been recently spotted on the streets of Monaco, wearing a camouflage on its body.
From Germany to Monaco, where a prototype version of the new BMW i8 has been recently spotted and after seeing it on the famous track, the Nurburgring, just a few days ago, time has come to write about one of the carmaker’s newest creations. The BMW i8 in question has been spotted by the guys at Auto Blog in Monaco, but the hybrid supercar had some camouflage on its body, so its lines aren’t very visible.
The BMW i8 is expected to hit the market in two body styles, Coupe and Roadster, and its future customers will receive a rear mid-engined hybrid for the money. But rather than competing with supercars like the McLaren P1, the Ferrari LaFerrari or the Porsche 918 Spyder, the model in question will become a direct rival for the production version of the Lexus LF-LC or the Honda / Acura NSX. The model will be powered by a 1.5 liter three-cylinder petrol engine under its hood, backed up by an electric motor. Total output should stand at 353 HP (260 kW) and 550 Nm of torque (406 lb-ft), enough for a 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint of 4.6 seconds.
