BMW has recently introduced the Competition package for the 2014 M5 and M6 Coupe, Convertible and Gran Coupe, which is adding some interesting items.
According to the German based automaker, the new BMW Competition Package, aimed towards the 2014 M5 and M^, is adding features like the M carbon ceramic brakes, the 10mm lowered ride height, the tuned stabilizer bars, updated suspension and damping, new hydraulic rack-and-pinion steering with the M Servotronic function, a sports exhaust system with M black chrome twin pipes and 20-inch M ally wheels, amongst other goodies.
Standard items include the M kidney grille, the mirror double spoke design on the M wheels and revised taillights, while the adaptive LED headlights are available as an option. The cabin can now be had with the chrome trim on the sides of the iDrive, the touch-sensitive surface for the Touch Controller and more storage compartment available under the armrest in the center console. The 4.4 liter V8 engine is now producing a total output of 575 HP (423 kW), up from the 560 HP (412 kW) of the standard version. The unit is mated to a seven-speed M dual clutch transmission. The 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint is done 0.1 seconds quicker. The Competition package will go on sale in July.
