BMW M2 Cabrio rendered

A new render image with the upcoming BMW M2 Cabrio has recently hit the web and it might provide a first look into the final production version of the model.

With the M6 Cabrio and M6 Coupe being already available for sale and with the M4 Coupe and M4 Cabrio getting ready to be unveiled in concept versions probably during the 2013 Geneva Motor Show in March, two new M models signed by BMW, coming in the same Cabrio and Coupe body styles, are also on their way to the market. The BMW M2 Cabrio will be based on the brand new 2-Series and it will get a powerful engine under its hood, along with updated brakes and a new suspension system, amongst others.

Rumors are saying that the final production version of the BMW M2 Cabrio will get a four-cylinder turbocharged engine under its hood, which should be an alternative to the3.0 liter straight six-cylinder unit found on the M135i hatchback. The model will also stand out from a crowd thanks to an aggressive body kit and to the M badges or the large alloy wheels. A Gran Coupe version of the 2-Series is also expected to hit the market soon.
