And it really looks doable, since it will be basically a smaller version of the M4 Cabrio.
It’s been just a few days since the brand new BMW M2 Coupe has hit the web, being officially unveiled by the Bavarian based automaker, and now we are taking a look at how the convertible version may look like. The two images posted below are nothing more than simple renderings of the car, based on the M2 Coupe. However, at this point, we have no clue on whether the company will put something like this in production or simply ignore it, but it can’t hurt anyone to take a look at one and see just how it may be designed.
The compact two-door performance vehicle is making use of a 3.0 liter TwinPower Turbo engine, capable of putting down a total of 370 HP (272 kW) and 465 Nm (343 lb-ft) of torque, available between 1,400 rpm and 5,560 rpm. Power is being sent to the rear-wheel drive through either a six-speed manual or a 7-speed M DCT gearbox, allowing a 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint made in 4.5 seconds or in 4.3 seconds, respectively. Top speed has been electronically limited to 250 km/h (155 mph) but it can be raised to 270 km/h (168 mph). The M2 Coupe has an updated body, Active M Differential, M specific brakes, M Servotronic steering, MDM, Driving Assistant and more. It is coming as the spiritual successor of the 1M Coupe and it is reminding us of the original M3 E30.
