The German based automaker BMW is planning to introduce the M2 Coupe during the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, next fall.
Despite being caught on camera numerous times by spy photographers from around the continent, the development of the BMW M2 Coupe is still far behind as a recent report is indicating. According to the guys from BMW Blog, the model in question will be officially unveiled next September, during the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, a couple of months before entering production. Keep in mind that this is a simple report and that a lot can change in the remaining 10 months until the German automotive event will be opening its gates.
The BMW M2 will be introduced in a coupe body style at first and it will be standing above the current M235i. The model will be getting the same 3.0 liter six-cylinder engine used on its larger brothers, the M3 Sedan, M4 Coupe and M4 Cabrio, which will be detuned and it will be producing approximately 375 HP (279 kW) and 520 Nm (384 lb-ft) of torque. The unit will be connected to a 6-speed manual transmission, as standard, or to the optional 7-speed automatic M DCT.
