The BMW M2 Coupe will be introduced sometimes next year as a spiritual successor of the long forgotten 1M Coupe.

The development of such a model is no surprise anymore as this has been hinted numerous times across the last few months and it seems that it is getting closer and closer to the production line. According to a recent report published by the guys from the performance coupe will be introduced sometimes next year.
The new BMW M2 Coupe will be comparable to the original M3 E30 and it should be packing a 3.0 liter six-cylinder turbocharged engine under its hood which will be producing approximately 370 HP – 400 HP, being connected to a 6-speed manual transmission, offered in standard, or to an optional 7-speed automatic M DCT. The M2 will be coming with a more aggressive body kit than the current range topper M235i and. The official debut of the performance coupe will be made at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, next September, and the model will go on sale by the end of the year.
