BMW M2 Coupe rendering looks like the real deal image

And it is, basically, since it has been based on a prototype with camouflage covering its body.

It seems that not even a day cannot pass without us mentioning the upcoming BMW M2 Coupe and the most recent image with the model is nothing more than a simple rendering. However, this is quite important since it has been based on prototype and the only thing made to it was the removal of the camouflage. Don’t act too surprised if you will see the final production version of the model look identical to this one but for that you are still a few weeks away, since it is expected to be shown at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show, in mid-September.

The BMW M2 Coupe will be the range-topping version of the current 2-Series Coupe and it will sit above the M235i Coupe. The high-performance two-door compact car will be rivaling the upcoming Audi RS3 Sedan and the facelifted Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG, despite all three having different body styles. Under its hood, a 3.0 liter six-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine will be found. This will be capable of putting down a total of 365 HP (272 kW) and 465 Nm (343 lb-ft) of torque, which will be sent to the rear-wheel drive through a standard 6-speed manual or an optional 7-speed DCT gearbox. The 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) acceleration should take approximately 4.5 seconds and top speed will be electronically limited to 250 km/h (155 mph). More details on the new BMW M2 Coupe will be announced at the German automotive event.
