The final production version of the BMW M2 Coupe will be debuting this October.
BMW will be putting an end to rumors, reports and spy shots of the M2 Coupe with the unveil of the model which will be taking place, in a premiere, this October. The announcement hasn’t been made public at this time, but BMW Blog, quoting unspecified sources, is claiming that the model will be shown online. Its first public appearance will be made at either the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show, in November, or a couple of months later, at the 2016 NAIAS, in Detroit. The teaser game for the vehicle will be started over the next few weeks and a market launch has been scheduled, apparently, for March-April, next year.
The new BMW M2 Coupe will be offered, at the time of its launch, with a choice of four colors. These will include the Black Sapphire, the Alpine White, the Mineral Grey and the Long Beach Blue. The last one is expected to be the official color of the vehicle. The range-topping model of the current 2-Series Coupe is believed to be taking its power from a 3.0 liter twin turbo straight six-cylinder engine, which will be capable of putting down a total of 370 HP (272 kW) and 465 Nm (343 lb-ft) of torque. This configuration will allow it to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.5 seconds, from a standstill, and to go up to a top speed electronically limited to 250 km/h (155 mph). More details on it are limited at this time.
