The BMW M2 has just got passed the rumor phase as the model in question was recently approved for production and it should be hitting the assembly line sometimes next year.
The announcement hasn’t been made official just yet, but according to the guys at the Bimmer Post, the brand new BMW M2 will start its production in the fall of 2015 and it should be delivered to its first customers in late 2015. Our source is quoting some company insiders and it seems that it will be known as the F87, once it will become available for order.
The new BMW M2 will be hotter than the current M235i Coupe and it will be coming with a more aggressive styling, with an updated interior design, with a true M suspension system and brakes, with M alloy wheels, with an M steering wheel and gearshift lever, sports seats and some other tweaks. The most important part of the model will be found under its hood where the 3.0 liter 6-cylinder engine is expected to be found, with its 370 to 380 HP (272 to 279 kW), which basically means 44 to 54 HP (32 – 39 kW) more than the current M235i Coupe. More details on the model in question remain unknown for the moment.
