New renderings with the BMW M2 have been released and they are providing a glimpse of the upcoming performance two-door coupe.
Rumors on the development of a BMW M2 have been around for quite some time now and after being officially confirmed for production, the model in question is now rendered, based on the M235i Coupe. The images posted below are renderings made by X-Tomi and we can easily spot the aggressive front fascia, with a bumper inspired by its larger brothers, the M3 Sedan and the M4 Coupe, an aggressive central front splitter, flared wheel arches, a carbon fiber roof, larger wheels, a subtle bootlid spoiler, a more sporty rear bumper and the quad-exhaust pipe arrangement.
The new BMW M2 will be also using some upgraded brakes, a new suspension system and some other “goodies”. Power will be provided by a 3.0 liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine from the M235i Coupe, which will be upgraded in order to produce approximately 380 HP (279 kW) or even 400 HP (294 kW). The unit will be connected to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The BMW M2 will bridge the gap between the current M235i and the M3 and M4 Coupe. More details on the model will be announced later on this year, close to its introduction.
