BMW is planning to introduce the brand new M3 and M4 Coupe next year, during the 2014 Detroit Motor Show.
The new generation of the M3, along with its two-door hard-top brother, the M4 Coupe, have already been spied testing numerous times on the Nurburgring and not only and it seems that future buyers of the two models will have to wait until next year to get their hands on the two performance cars. According to the most recent rumor, the new BMW M3 and BMW M4 Coupe will be officially unveiled during the 2014 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, next January.
The two cars should come in the same configuration, front-engined rear-wheel drive, unlike their competitions from Mercedes-Benz and Audi where the new C63 AMG and the RS4 are getting all-wheel drive. The new BMW M3 and M4 Coupe should shed some 80 kg (176 lbs) from their weight, compared to the standard versions. The two models are expected to pack a 3.0 liter six-cylinder twin turbocharged engine, which will produce approximately 450 HP, 30 HP more than the current 4.0 liter V8. The torque figure should stand at 550 Nm, 150 Nm more, enough for a 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint of just over 4 seconds and a top speed limited to 250 km/h (155 mph).
