BMW recently (last week) unveiled its new M3 CRT, which puts the companies’ new carbon fiber technologies on display.
The BMW M3 CRT will be produced by the BMW M GmbH factory in a limited run of 67 units. And, according to German magazine AutoBild, the new BMW M3 CRT has sold out before its official market launch.
The car is essentially a lightened M3 Sedan fitted with the 450 horse power drivetrain from the high-performance M3 GTS. The car accelerates from rest to 62 mph in 4.4 seconds and is capable of a top speed of 180 mph.
Other vital features of this streamlined saloon include bucket seats in the front, a direct nod to the racing pedigree – and these are made of a cellular carbon honeycomb which has been pioneered for BMW’s i3 and i8 models.
