The brand new BMW M4 Coupe has managed to lap the Nurburgring faster than its predecessor as the company has recently announced.
BMW has adopted a weird strategy of name changing when coming to the new 3-Series Coupe and 3-Series Convertible which are now known as the 4-Series Coupe and 4-Series Convertible as the 3-Series moniker has been kept only for the sedan and some of its derivatives. The BMW M4 Coupe is, however, much faster than its predecessor, the M3 Coupe, as the model in question has managed to lap the Nordschleife in just 7 minutes and 52 seconds.
This basically means that the new model is 13 seconds faster than its predecessor so it should make the company’s fans quite happy. The vehicle in question is taking its power from the same 3.0 liter inline six-cylinder TwinPower Turbo engine, which is producing a total output of 431 HP (317 kW) and 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque. This is allowing the model to accelerate from a standstill to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.1 seconds and it can reach an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). This can be raised to 280 km/h (174 mph) with the M Driver’s Package, available as an option.
