The Munich based company, world’s largest premium manufacturer, has just officially revealed its roster for the most important auto show of the autumn – IAA.
Being on top of the premium manufacturer’s world sales is no easy task and it becomes increasingly difficult to maintain once you get there. As such, a good line-up of new models for each Motor Show is a good thing – it shows your strength. This is especially true as the IAA is kind of a home show for all the German brands – and we all know the premium top dogs are BMW, Audi and Mercedes Benz.
Aside its British Mini brand, BMW comes full force to the IAA with the new “i” sub-brand as well. Oddly enough, in the press release there is no mention of the i8, but we really can’t bet against its reveal there – what other better venue than a Motor Show in your home country?
Coming back to the official line-up, up comes first the i3, which has been released in production form into the wild, but only a select few actually saw it in real life. Aside from its electric appeal, true BMW hard-core fans will especially await the public release of the new 4 Series Coupe and its main star the M4 Coupe.
New BMW X5 M50d, BMW M550d xDrive Sedan and BMW M550d xDrive Touring M Performance Automobiles will also be on stage, alongside the third generation X5 and refreshed 5 Series.
BMW is also presenting two concept studies to underline its expertise and creativity – both in the area of drive system technology and in its push into new vehicle segments. The BMW Concept X5 eDrive has a plug-in hybrid drive system and than there’s the Concept Active Tourer Outdoor – a design variation of the future BMW MPV.
